Hey.
It's a beautiful day outside today! And I'd like to talk about that, but first something else has been on my mind.
Bullying. No surprise that it's turned into a huge issue. We are hearing all the time about how social media makes it so easy because you don't have to be face to face. Generally we are shocked when we hear some of the hateful, tormenting words that make it to the headline stories.
But- then there's the sneakier bullying. The "words of wisdom." They don't name names, but it isn't always hard to know where they're coming from or to whom them may be aimed. And the people reading them, knowing it's most likely aimed at them, find it just as pleasant as outright, mean words. Of course, my writing about it this way isn't any better, but I'm so fed up, I couldn't hold back. I apologize to everyone who feels the same way I do for adding to the noise.
But-to whom it may concern- have a taste of your own medicine, and let me tell you to grow up and get a life.
Ok- see how annoying that is to read? Sorry- Salty Aimee is done.
Back to the beautiful day, and some sunshiny smiles.
I have been meaning to take my camera with me on a run for the last few days, but I've borrowed Katie's camera, and it's much larger than mine, and I just haven't felt like lugging it along with me. So I will just have to tell you about it and hope you're enjoying some of the sights yourself.
I didn't think the leaves were going to change much this year, but I guess the combination of rain early in the week and the sunshine we have now may have spurred things on? I don't know- I'm not that scientifically informed.
Anyway, you can imagine my delight when I trotted outside this week and saw the most beautifully colored leaves all around.
Today I went by a company courtyard that Godric Gryffindor would have been proud to call his own. The most astonishingly bright golds and deep ruby reds. It was stunning. The same company has been using sprinklers all summer and fall, so they have this radiantly emerald green grass, and bright orange and yellow-leafed trees in the front yard. Bright, jewel tones abound.
I didn't have my ipod charged in time for my run today, which I hate doing because then I hear my breathing too much and I focus on that and it makes it even harder. So today, the only thing that was able to distract me from my huffing and puffing was the beauty I saw all around.
I attempted to soak up the color of each bright red bush I passed. To delight in the fact that a rose bush was still in full bloom. To enjoy crunching through big pools of leaves that had already given up from holding on. To feel the warm sun out of the bright blue sky, shine on my face. To marvel at God's creation.
It's a good day. Enjoy!
