Meredith and Cristina

Dear friend,

Has it really been a month since I've written? I suppose tis the season to watch time fly by.

Tis also the season for "a few of my favorite things." Isn't Christmas magical? I can't think of any other word to describe the season. How else do you describe sitting in a cozy living room with a crackling fire, and the warm glow of a thousand twinkling lights peeking through the Christmas tree branches. Tis the season to go Christmas shopping with Katie a couple times a week, enjoying looking for the perfect gifts and just for the experience of shopping around and laughing for hours. Tis the season for Christmas carols and Christmas stories that transport you to a different time, a different place. Tis the season for gift giving and smiles.

Speaking of gifts, did you know that Jered was accepted to Loyola School of Nursing? It's one of the top three nursing schools in Illinois! It's really amazing how God has opened the doors for him. It was just during this one semester he's been out of school that he's decided he wants to be a nurse practitioner instead of a physician's assistant, applied to schools, and now he's already accepted for the spring semester! Needless to say, I'm very proud of him, and thankful that God worked it out to have him start school when he's still excited and anxious to get started on the road ahead.

This brings me, although very choppily, to my letter's namesake. (You know...medical stuff...) Meredith and Cristina. I love, love, LOVE, L.O.V.E., looooooooove Grey's Anatomy. Not another existing show makes me laugh, cry, feel, or think as much. Eh, sure, alot of the show is about inappropriate behavior and relationships between doctors. So what? What I find in it is stories of love, sacrifice, life, death, and friendship.

I like most of the characters, but year after year, Cristina Yang is probably my very favorite. Her character has developed beautifully. I'm not telling you anything else about that- either you've seen it and know what I mean, or you desperately need to see it.

But, this isn't just about Cristina. It's about Meredith and Cristina. I love their friendship. Sometimes, I like to think that Katie and I have their kind of friendship. You know, the kind where they know what each other is thinking, can finish sentences, stand up for each other no matter what, but are willing to call each other on stupidity if necessary. The kind where if something's wrong, and Cristina walks into Meredith and McDreamy's room, McDreamy knows it's his cue to leave and let them have their girl talk time.

Well, quite honestly, I started writing this during an episode of Grey's Anatomy, but now How I Met Your Mother is on, and my muse is fading fast. So, I guess I will just call it quits for now.

(If you haven't seen the episode from which the above photo was taken... you need to.)

Later,
